On 27 September 2009 (this Sunday), Architects for Peace along with Prof.Silvia Acosta's team will hold a presentation as a talk near the construction site as the project draws to a close.
The Youth Services Youth Carnival will be returning to St Andrews these school holidays for four days of fun! Come on down for some free activities for all ages , Skate/BMX Ramps, jumping castle, crafts, free BBQ and more.
Held at the St Andrews Primary School from Tuesday 29 September to Friday 2 October 2009, 10am - 4pm.

Offer of Volunteer Assistance
A group of eleven YooralIa women are wanting to offer their services for one week-day during the next 6-8 weeks, to assis in the bushfire recovery effort. The team would be unable to undertake heavy labour jobs (such as fencing) but would be open to sugesstions for completing other tasks, ie tree, flower, bush planting - whaterever is needed. 19/08/09 - The Radio National "Australia Talks" program will host a discussion on the management of bushfires in Australia tomorrow night (Thursday August 20th 2009) between 6pm and 7.30pm.
Australia Talks is a nationally broadcast program that involves an in depth discussion on one topic with several invited guests and talkback calls.
One of the guests on Thursday night will be Gary Hughes, a survivor of the Black Saturday bushfires who lost his home and narrowly escaped with his life.
31/07/09 A Kindergarten in New Zealand would like the contact details of the Kinglake Kindergarten. The children have undertaken a small fund raiser with their families to support the teachers and families at Kinglake and wish to send a set of New Zealand children's books to the teachers to assist in rebuilding their resources. 24/07/09 - Kinglake West resident Mark Dawson has a Mobile Firewood Processor for Hire. It is capable of processing large logs into split firewood. The process will produce approximately 10m3 (a truck load) of split firewood per hour. He is interested in taking unwanted logs off sites.

24/07/09 A bicycle has been donated for a person who has been affected by the bushfires. Would suit someone of medium height 5'6"-5'10"

"A client has requested information regarding the possibility of being employed 2 days per week within the clean up of Kinglake National Park. This client was a Kinglake bushfire victim who will be rebuilding and has the skills to assist his community."

"Hi, I grew up in Kinglake West on Coombs Road, our farm backed onto Humevale Road.
During my years in the area my grandfather always told me that a railway used to run up the mountain between Humevale Road and Whittlesea-Yea Road.
Does anyone know if this is true and if so where i can find some information on it?"

14/4/09 - A retired couple in Glen Iris are donating a variety of items to a worthy cause including: timber fencing, picket fencing, large terracotta pots, garden equipment, large television set (with manual and remote), video player, videos, CD's, brand new queen size doona cover. Everything in perfect condition. More info
